The short version: this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies' servers. The only personal data we receive through it is what you choose to send us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone.
1. Who we are
Haraka Jet Ski Rental is a jet ski rental business on the sand next to Costa Rica Chill Lounge, Nyali Beach, Mombasa, Kenya. For the personal data described in this notice we are the data controller under the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya.

2. What this website does with your data
Nothing that we store. The booking helper on this page runs entirely in your browser. When you press send, your phone or computer opens WhatsApp or your mail app with the text you composed. Nothing reaches us until you send it there yourself.
The server that delivers this page keeps technical logs, as every web server does: the address your device connects from, the time, and the pages requested. Our hosting provider keeps these logs for a short period to keep the site secure and running. We do not use them to identify you.
3. What we receive when you book or message us
When you message, email or call us, we receive what you send: your name if you give it, your phone number or email address, the day, time, ride and add-ons you chose, and anything else you write.
We use it to answer you, confirm your slot, prepare your ride, and reach you if something changes, for example because of the weather or the sea. The legal basis is the rental agreement you are asking us for and our legitimate interest in running the business.
If you pay a deposit online, you pay it on the payment provider's own page. We receive the confirmation that the payment went through, with your name and the amount. We never see your full card number or your M-Pesa PIN.
We keep booking messages for as long as we need them to run your ride and handle anything that follows from it. Where Kenyan tax or accounting law requires us to keep a record of a sale, we keep that record for the period the law sets. Everything else we delete.
4. WhatsApp, phone and email
When you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp, a service of Meta Platforms, processes your data under its own terms and privacy policy. Our email address is a Gmail address, so Google carries your email under Google's privacy policy. We do not control these services. If you would rather not use them, call us.
5. Photos and videos
If you book the GoPro video, we film your ride and hand the video to you. We may keep a copy for a short time to make sure you received it, then we delete it.
We publish photos or videos of you on our Instagram, TikTok or this website only if you say yes. You can take that permission back at any time by messaging us, and we take the content down as soon as we can.
6. Who else sees your data
The Haraka team that handles bookings. If you pay a deposit online, our payment provider processes that payment under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it on for marketing. We share data only where the law requires it, for example on a lawful request by an authority.
7. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:
- be told what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it,
- have wrong data corrected and data we no longer need deleted,
- object to how we use your data, and withdraw a permission you gave us,
- complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya at odpc.ke if you think we handled your data badly.
To use any of these rights, message us on WhatsApp or write to harakajet@gmail.com. We answer as quickly as we can and at the latest within the time the law allows.
8. Children
Bookings come from adults. Riders under 18 book through a parent or guardian, and we speak to the parent or guardian about anything concerning the child.
9. Changes
When something changes in how we handle data, we update this notice and change the date at the top.
